Today I caught a leaf, as it floated down from the sky.
I had to look up to spot it and keep my gaze gently upon it. I had to be still and watch and wait. I had to breathe gently and keep my body soft, relaxed and ready. I had to move fluidly, gracefully to follow its path. I had to open my palm in readiness and acceptance to allow it a place to land.
There was no “chasing” this leaf. Or reaching for it. Too much effort and the leaf simply goes somewhere else.
Today I am grateful for this teacher, the leaf.
Look up, be still and open your palms to the sky. And maybe you will find a leaf or a leaf will find you.
